A lame duck President talking now would not help.
Obama on TV. Unprecedented early transition of power. A testament to our constitution and our nation we can do this.
Traders on floor NYSE joking all we needed was for Pres Bush to talk today to worsen the -8.93% S&P loss.
"Until the money is loaned by banks, the money isn't printed."-Steve Liesman CNBC. Finally, someone making that clear.
It's official. The NBER says the US economy entered recession in December 2007.
Obama is doing great in press conference.
Time to catch up on the disaster called our economy.
Letting health care companies maximize profits by blocking access to a public good is criminal.
Could apply same concept to those who cannot afford insurance but have govt pay. Cheaper than emergency rooms.
Everyone's rates would go up a bit, but this will happen eventually through nationalization if system keeps failing.
Health is a public good, and we can dictate to insurance companies the price of admission into our markets.
Sorry. Insurance companies get randomly assigned the same % of uninsurable people as they insure in whole population.
Health costs are number 1 reason for bankruptcies in US. Even if you have money, with a bad medical history you lose.
Basically, whatever percentage of population insurance company insures, they randomly get assigned same $ of uninsurable
I would legislate a lottery system for the un-insurable (prior bad medical histories) and have them pay average cost.
Main problem with healthcare is they can cherry-pick their customers.
Good morning twitterers. Everyone is so busy and thanks for all the links.
What a bloody day on Wall Street. Down 8% now up to 6.22%. VIX (fear gauge for S&P based on options) around 71.
For my friends who like gold. Nice video on Financial Times covering risks http://tinyurl.com/6o4335.
VIX up to 61 - Fear and loathing on Wall Street.
