WU: OBAMA INAUGURATION POPULAR; TICKETS SCARCE

WASHINGTON, D.C. Congressman David Wu’s office has received numerous calls in recent days requesting tickets to President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration. We will continue to accept ticket requests through Wednesday, November 26.  After all requests have been received, tickets will be allocated.  We will make every attempt to notify all of those who requested tickets as to the status of their request.

Please note that we have already received substantially more requests than we will be able to fill.  Given the very high volume of requests reported by many members of Congress, we expect that tickets to the secure sections of the event will be scarce.

Please note that all tickets are being distributed through members of the 111th Congress, and will only be provided to members a few days before the inauguration.  Any website or ticket broker claiming to have inauguration tickets for sale is not telling the truth.

There will potentially be un-ticketed public viewing areas on the National Mall for some inaugural events, and we will provide more information when details have been released.

For updated information about the inauguration, please visit http://inaugural.senate.gov.
