Summary

GAO provided a supplement to its report on problem areas requiring the immediate attention of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Electronic Data Systems Federal Corporation (EDSF), the flood program contractor. This supplement reviews FEMA and EDSF corrective actions and plans.

GAO believes the corrective actions already completed and those planned by FEMA are appropriate responses. GAO interpreted the plans and actions by FEMA as a positive indication that the flood program incorporates an adequate system of internal control and follows generally accepted accounting principles and standards.
