Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mike McIntyre announced today that the Lumberton Fire Department has received $36,000 in federal funds for operations and safety.

Congressman McIntyre stated, “Our first responders are on the front lines everyday protecting our citizens and communities.  These federal funds will help the Lumberton Fire Department do their job, and I congratulate Chief Mike Cox and all the great folks at the department for their work in securing these funds.  Safety and protection is first and foremost.”

Lumberton Fire received the funds, appropriated through Congress and distributed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in this round of grants.  Funds may be used for operations and safety initiatives at the department.
