Focus on Seniors
Dear Friend,
Hello, and welcome to my Senior Web page.
This Fathers' Day season help a senior loved one.
I have joined with the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the local Social Security Office in Lumberton, NJ to encourage members of the public to make sure their fathers (or any senior loved ones) on Medicare who have limited income and resources apply for extra help with Medicare prescription drug costs.
You can help them call toll-free to apply or seek more information at (800) 772-1213, (TTY 1-(800) 325-0778). To apply online or for more details, visit Social Security online.
SSA and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services are working together to help Medicare beneficiaries who earn less than $15,315 in income ($20,535 for a married couple) with their prescription drug costs. There are some income exceptions if there are earnings from work or support for other family members who live in the same home. To determine if they could be eligible, Social Security will need to know their income and the value of their savings, investments and real estate (other than their home).
So help your dad or loved one today by helping them apply. Of course, all Medicare recipients should consider signing up.
Again, thank you for visiting my website. If you have any questions regarding this important program, or other federal issues, please do not hesitate to contact my office.
Sincerely,
Jim Saxton
MEMBER OF CONGRESS
