Thursday, April 10, 2008 5:30pm
St. John United Church of Christ
"Life in Occupied Palestine: Eyewitness Stories and Photos" will be presented by author Anna Baltzer as part of this year's McMaster Symposium on Thursday, April 10, at 5:30 p.m. in St. John United Church of Christ. Baltzer is the author of Witness in Palestine: A Jewish American Woman in the Occupied Territories. The purpose of her presentation and her book is to provide those interested in the Palestine conflict with critical information and documentation that can be difficult to obtain through mainstream media sources, and to encourage dialogue towards taking action on the issue. Anna's hope is that her presentation and book will also offer a thoughtful perspective given her background as the granddaughter of Polish-born Holocaust refugees. She sees it as her responsibility to expose the injustices of today in light of those of the past. She is a graduate of Columbia University, a Fulbright Scholar, and three-time volunteer with the International Women's Peace Service. Her presentation is free and open to the public.
