EHAP finds no evidence of harm to children riding buses
EHAP has released a health consultation report that examines the health risk to children who ride buses affected in a 2006 fire. No parents of children or children who ride buses have reported health effects to the school district or the public health division. However, bus drivers began reporting health problems after driving fire-affected buses. The Oregon Occupational Safety Health Division opened an investigation and could not find anything in the buses that explains the drivers' symptoms. The Salem-Keizer School District asked EHAP to review the data to ensure that children's health wasn't at risk.
