Motorcycles
Registering & Titling
NOTE:  Motorcycles may or may not have been manufactured or equipped for highway use. To legally operate a motorcycle or similar vehicle on the public roads of Oregon, the vehicle must meet Federal highway safety and equipment requirements, Federal EPA requirements, and insurance requirements. Plates
The standard issue plate is a yellow background with blue letters and numbers.  One plate is issued and is required to be displayed on the rear of the motorcycle.  Motorcycles may also have custom plates, or may qualify for antique, special interestdisabled veteran, Ex-POW, and Ham plates.

Motorcycle Definition
ORS 801.365 defines a motorcycle as any self-propelled (motorized) vehicle other than a moped or farm tractor that:
  1. Has a seat or saddle for use of the rider;
  2. Is designed to be operated on the ground upon wheels; and
  3. Is designed to travel with not more than three wheels in contact with the ground.

Motorcycles with Enclosed Cab
Operators of motorcycles with an enclosed cab are not required to wear a helmet or have a motorcycle endorsement.
