The Virology/Immunology Section provides essential testing for diseases of public health importance caused by viruses and other microorganisms and tests approximately 165,000 specimens per year. The V/I Section also forwards specimens for particular agents and conditions to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for analysis.
