About Us
Welcome to the Oregon State Public Health Laboratory's (OSPHL) home page.
Vision
The OSPHL has been actively protecting the public's health since 1903 by supporting state and local infectious disease control efforts, preventing metabolic disorders detectable at birth, and assuring the quality of testing in clinical and environmental laboratories.
Mission Statement
To provide and ensure quality laboratory services throughout Oregon.

The OSPHL's primary responsibility is to provide testing of community health importance in support of the mission of the Oregon Health Services: To protect, preserve, and promote the health of all the people of Oregon. Public Health, as contrasted with individual health care, focuses its efforts on improving people's health at the community level. Our main clients are county health departments and other local agencies which address community-level health issues while offering selected health care services to those who do not have access to private providers. Their emphasis is on prevention services, disease surveillance and control, and outreach to high risk populations. Laboratory Director/Administrator
