Preconception/Prenatal Genetic Screening

Materials were created through funding from the March of Dimes Oregon Chapter in 2004-2005.


Oregon Newborn Screening

  • Northwest Regional Newborn Screening Program

    screens newborns for endocrine, hemoglobin and metabolic disorders -- identifying infants who need immediate treatment to prevent developmental problems, mental retardation or death. Identified infants are tracked to ensure they receive appropriate medical care.


  • Oregon Cystic Fibrosis Newborn Screening Task Force Report

    Task force was convened to review all information and recommend to the Department of Human Services whether CF screening should be adopted for Oregon newborns. Based on these recommendations, Cystic Fibrosis was added to Oregon NBS and enhanced screening began November 1, 2006.
