Welcome to Oregon's International Trade Services. Our mission is to promote the export of Oregon products and services to strengthen the state's economy.
We work with Oregon companies by offering a range of programs and services designed to help the state's small- and medium-sized non-agricultural businesses successfully compete in today's international marketplace. We assist with counseling, market research, due diligence in identifying and evaluating international partners, and other services to help companies develop and expand their products and services in key overseas markets. We also serve as the liaison for visiting foreign diplomats and international trade missions. We leverage our expertise and a global network of contacts, including Oregon's own overseas representatives based in Asia and Europe, for the benefit of Oregon companies.
International trade is a vital component of Oregon's economy. One in four Oregon manufacturing jobs is linked to international trade. Oregon consistently ranks among the top 10 U.S. states in exports on a per capita basis.
In 2007, Oregon had total exports of $16.5 billion. Oregon companies exported to more than 219 countries and territories between 2002 and 2007. More than 49 percent of Oregon's 2007 total exports went to Canada, Japan, China, South Korea and Malaysiaeach of which purchased more than $1 billion in Oregon goods and services in 2007. |
