BOLLING ANNOUNCES LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR’S CHALLENGE HEART HEALTH INITIATIVE
-"Your Heart is in Your Hands" campaign to promote healthier living, increased physical activity, and better nutrition to reduce heart disease -
Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling, joined by leading health care organizations and heart health advocates, has announced the Lieutenant Governor's Challenge: “Your Heart is in Your Hands" initiative, a heart and cardiovascular health campaign sponsored by the National Lieutenant Governor's Association designed to promote heart health education, healthier living, increased physical activity and improved diet and nutrition.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in America for both men and women and nearly 20,000 Virginians die every year from heart related illness. However, healthier living, regular exercise and improved diet can reduce the risk of heart and cardiovascular disease by up to 82%.
The Lieutenant Governor's Challenge is an incentive based physical fitness and nutrition program where Virginians set individual, attainable goals of 30-minutes of daily exercise, track their progress on a personal webpage and receive a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal for achieving their goal.

LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR BOLLING NAMED CO-CHAIR OF ATTORNEY GENERAL'S GOVERNMENT AND REGULATORY REFORM TASK FORCE
-Bolling Will Also Chair New Working Group on Infrastructure in Virginia-
Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling has been appointed Co-Chair of the Attorney General's Government and Regulatory Reform Task Force. In addition, Bolling will chair a newly created Working Group on Infrastructure in Virginia. The announcement was made by Attorney General Bob McDonnell at the State Capitol in Richmond on June 20th.
Lieutenant Governor Bolling's Working Group on Infrastructure in Virginia will begin by examining regulations within the Virginia Department of Transportation. The group will then focus on regulations impacting other key areas of infrastructure development, such as the cost of constructing educational facilities. The group will be free to work on any issues it determines necessary to speed the completion and reduce the cost of infrastructure development in Virginia.
