Francis Scott Key Bridge
This outer crossing of the Baltimore Harbor opened in March 1977
as the final link in I-695 (the Baltimore Beltway). Including its
connecting approaches, the project is 10.5 miles in length. In January
2000, the Authority completed an $89.5- million project to replace
the northern approach's former two-lane viaduct with an at-grade,
four lane roadway.
More than 11-million vehicles used the bridge during fiscal year
2001. The toll for a two-axle vehicle is $2; each additional axle
is $2. The E-ZPassSM electronic-toll-collection
system is available at the Francis Scott Key Bridge. Click
here for additional information about the system.
