Kicking Horse Job Corp Center Student Government
The Kicking Horse Job Corps Center (KHJCC)
is a comprehensive career technical training program for
ages 16 through 24. Most students live on campus and
typically complete their training in less than one year.
Administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, Job Corps
trains 62,000 students each year at 122 centers across the
country.
At Job Corps, students enroll to learn a trade, earn a high
school diploma or GED and get help finding a good job. When
you join the program, you will be paid a monthly allowance;
the longer you stay with the program, the more your
allowance will be. Job Corps provides career counseling and
transition support to its students for up to 12 months after
they graduate from the program.

Are you Eligible?
To enroll in Job Corps, students must meet the
following requirements:
- Be 16 through 24;
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident;
- Meet income requirements
- Be ready, willing, and able to participate fully in
an educational environment.
Location:
KHJCC is located in Ronan, Montana, about 60 miles
north of Missoula. The center is located on the Confederated
Salish and Kootenai Tribes Reservation. KHJCC is open to all
races and nationalities but remains one of the only Native
American emphasis centers in the nation.
Education:
Kicking Horse Job Corps offers the opportunity to earn your
High School through its partnership with Two Eagle River
High School or a GED through the State of Montana.
KHJCC also offers enhancement courses through Salish
Kootenai College including; Information Technology,
Parenting, Cultural Awareness, Health Education, Job Search
Skills and Physical Education
Career Training:
Kicking Horse Job Corps students have the opportunity to
train in several different areas. Students have both class
training and on the job training where they work in a job
like setting with supervision by a qualified instructor.
KHJCC works closely with Salish Kootenai College instructors
and this allows students to become certified with a
Commercial Drivers License.

Our programs are aligned with industry-based skill
standards and nationally recognized certifications. We
provide training in related areas to prepare you for
multiple jobs along your career path. We partner with
employers to offer you internships and hands-on experience.
