The House of Representatives passed the Health Information Technology Act by a bipartisan vote of 270 to 148 Thursday. H.R. 4157 is a part of our Suburban Agenda. Passage of the legislation will help move America’s health care system into the 21^st century by reducing medical errors, protecting patient health information and improving overall quality of care. The VA has demonstrated dramatic improvements in better care at lower cost using this technology. Our legislation accelerates the day when civilians have access to the same hi-tech records as veterans.
