Washington, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Timothy V. Johnson today announced the award of a $62,662 grant for operations and safety purposes to the Tuscola Fire Department.
The grant is from the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
“These grants have become invaluable for local departments in maintaining the needed equipment and training for our first-responders to protect our communities,” Rep. Johnson said. “I’m happy to do what I can to help Tuscola and the other towns in my district obtain what they need to do these important jobs.”
The Assistance to Firefighters Grants program is part of the Administration’s larger, coordinated effort to strengthen the nation’s overall level of preparedness for fire and emergency-related disasters.
