REP.  JOHNSON MAKES MILITARY ACADEMY NOMINATIONS

Washington, D.C. -  U.S. Rep. Timothy V. Johnson today announced the successful nominations of three 15th District students to the nation’s military academies. The following individuals will be cadets beginning this fall and will be part of the Class of 2012.

“These three young men are truly inspiring. Their accomplishments, even at this young age, inspire confidence in the future of our country,” Rep. Johnson said. “They have undergone rigorous testing and preparation to get to this point. They and their families are to be congratulated on their nominations to the country’s most elite military academies.

   In alphabetical order, they are:

   * Ryan Brady, Danville, a student at Bismarck-Henning High School. Ryan has been corresponding on a regular basis with Rep. Johnson’s office for four years to express his interest and inquire about the steps he needed to take in terms of scholastic work, public service and activities to prepare himself for entrance into the military academies. He has excelled in all areas.

Ryan applied and was accepted to the Naval Academy as well as the Air Force Academy. He has chosen to attend the Air Force Academy. Ryan is the son of David Brady and Cheryl Richards.

   * Adam Carlson, Rankin, a student at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School. Adam is an accomplished athlete, musician and student. First in his class and a perfect GPA, Adam has prepared for years to attend the U.S. Naval Academy.

Adam is the son of Scott and Barbara Carlson.

   * Wade Redenius, Gilman, a student at Iroquois West High School. As with the other nominees, Wade is a top student, student leader and an excellent athlete. He also is an accomplished marksman, musician, actor and historian.

Wade is the son of James and Ellen Redenius and will be attending West Point.

“Our best wishes go out to these young men as they accept this honor,” Rep Johnson said. “They are our future leaders and we are very proud to have such distinguished representation from the 15th Congressional District,” Rep. Johnson said.
