REP. JOHNSON ANNOUNCES WESTVILLE FIRE GRANT

Washington, D.C. -  U.S. Rep. Timothy V. Johnson today announced the award of a $106,457 grant to the Westville Area Fire Protection District.

Rep. Johnson helped support the district’s application for funding to pay for new turnout gear and self-contained breath apparatus. The grant is through the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.

“I’m happy were able to obtain this funding for Westville,” Rep. Johnson said. “Westville has some particular needs that fit into eligibility standards set by the Department of Homeland Security. These grants have been extremely valuable in getting our first-responders the tools they need to do their very difficult jobs.”

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant program is part of the Administration’s larger, coordinated effort to strengthen the nation’s overall preparedness for fire and emergency-related disasters.
