REP. JOHNSON ANNOUNCES CHRISMAN FIRE GRANT

Washington, D.C. -  U.S. Rep. Timothy V. Johnson today announced the award of a $42,212 grant to the Chrisman Fire Protection District.

Rep. Johnson helped support Chrisman’s application for bunker gear and other personal protective equipment. The grant is through the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.

“I’m happy we were able to obtain this kind of funding for Chrisman,” Rep. Johnson said. “These grants have bee invaluable in updating everything from boots to breathing equipment and from trucks to training for our first-responders throughout the 15th Congressional District. These people are the ones on the ground doing the dangerous work of protecting us in times of crisis and they deserve the right tools to do the job.”

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant program is part of the Administration’s larger, coordinated effort to strengthen the nation’s overall level of preparedness for fire and emergency-related disasters.
