Washington, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Timothy V. Johnson today announced the award of a $77,733 grant to the Pesotum Fire Protection District.
The grant is from the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
“These grants have become invaluable for local departments in maintaining the needed equipment and training for our first-resopnders to protect our communities,” Rep. Johnson said. “I’m happy to do what I can to help Pesotum and southern Champaign County as well as all our other towns and villages obtain what they need to do these important jobs.”
The Assistance to Firefighters Grant program is a competitive funding initiative designed to strengthen the preparedness of the nation’s first responders.
