Washington, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Timothy V. Johnson today announced a $247,000 grant for the Flat Rock Area Fire Protection District.
The grant is to be used for a new vehicle to serve the area.
The award is part of the latest round of grants awarded nationally this year through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters grant program.
The program is a competitive funding initiative designed to strengthen the preparedness of the nation’s first responders. Rep. Johnson has obtained approximately $1.5 million in grants for departments around the 15th Congressional District this year.
