A harp seal that hauled up on Wessagussett Beach in Weymouth Tuesday was a welcome attraction for residents. The New England Aquarium in Boston sent a volunteer to keep crowds and dogs at a distance from the juvenile seal, which appeared healthy and in no hurry to leave. Later Tuesday, the seal was moved to a private beach on the South Shore.
A small seal hauled up Tuesday morning on Wessagussett Beach in North Weymouth. Lisa Donehey discovered the seal on her morning walk and contacted the New England Aquarium.
