Giving

The Office of Development is dedicated to the mission of Cooperative Extension Service and its extensive county-based educational programs by the promotion of private source fund development. Private giving to the programs of the Cooperative Extension Service greatly enhances the extent and quality of educational opportunities offered to the 2.5 million people in the state of Arkansas.

The Department of Development is growing as the programs and services of Cooperative Extension grow and expand. Giving continues to grows as the staff engage in philanthropy by working closely with Extension’s leadership, department heads, county agents, volunteers, alumni, retirees, friends, corporations, foundations and organizations.

Beyond maintaining a legacy of private giving, the Office of Development is committed to expansion of resources from private donations. The Office is working to secure new donations by:

  • Gifts to the Director's Professional Development Fund
  • Expanding Cooperative Extension Service’s private fund development through increased donor and prospect research
  • Increasing partnerships with corporations, foundations and organizations through strategic development planning, identification of funding priorities and coordination of funding goals with funding requests
  • Expanding giving opportunities through the estate and planned giving programs at Cooperative Extension Service
  • Maintaining cordial and effective ties with alumni, retirees and friends through effective annual fund activities, special events and other development functions
  • Acknowledging the dedication and support of our donors through timely and routine methods of communication
  • Opportunities for staff and employee giving, payroll deductions, etc.
