Address changes on Commercial Driver Licenses must be completed in person. See DMV Office Locations. We do not accept any address change by e-mail.

Fees listed on this page reflect licenses issued under the new Central Issuance system. You may be charged 75 cents less in field offices which have not implemented the new system and in certain renewals and other limited transactions. There is currently no charge for mailed and faxed address changes.

The transition to Central Issuance will be completed by mid-December.

Nevada law requires motorists to notify DMV of a change of address within 30 days of the move, including residents who are leaving the state permanently.

Keeping your address current with us is important as we mail your renewal notices. We also use the mail to notify residents of license suspensions, vehicle insurance verification problems and other potentially serious issues. You may list separate mailing and residence addresses.

Fax or Mail

Download, complete and fax the application below to (775) 684-4992 or mail it to the address on the application.

Change of Address Application (DLD-22)

We will mail a sticker for the back of your driver license at no charge.

If you wish to obtain a new Registration Certificate, you may request it by including the forms below. There is a $5.00 fee for each new Certificate. The new Certificate will be mailed within 7 - 10 business days. Please include a credit card authorization with faxed applications. Mailed applications may include an authorization, a check or a money order.

Active-duty military members, spouses and dependents who are residents of Nevada but stationed in another state should include a copy of their most recent Leave and Earnings Statement.

In Person

You can complete the Change of Address Application in person at any DMV office and receive a new Driver License for a fee of $3 and new Registration Certificates for a fee of $5 each. See Office Locations.

Online

Online address changes are currently under development. We do not accept address changes by e-mail.

Registration Renewals

Vehicle registration renewals completed through the Internet, telephone or an emissions inspection station are sent to the address on record for the vehicle. If we do not have your correct address, please renew by mail and include a Change of Address form.

If you have already completed the renewal, you will have to apply for a substitute decal. The U.S. Postal Service will not forward the registration slip and decal.

For a substitute decal, complete a Change of Address Application if needed, an Application for Duplicate Registration Certificate and a Credit Card Authorization in the amount of $5.00. Include a cover letter with your daytime telephone number. Fax these to (775) 684-4797 or mail them to the address on the application. If you are mailing your application, you may pay by check or money order.

The substitute decal and Registration Certificate will be mailed within 7 - 10 business days. You may also obtain a substitute decal in person at any DMV Full Service or Express Office.
