When traveling through construction zones, motorists should observe posted speed limits and watch for construction personnel and equipment.

CALTRANS TO CLOSE I-15 SOUTHBOUND AT PRIMM WEDNESDAYS FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 2:00 P.M.
As part of the active Interstate 15 Truck Descending Lane Project, CALTRANS will close I-15 southbound lanes at Primm on Wednesday December 10 and 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The 4-hour closures on I-15 southbound will allow safe blasting and removal of earth material necessary to accomodate the widening associated with the project. I-15 northbound travelers will experience minimum delays (approximately 15 minutes) during these closures. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and avoid traveling southbound on I-15 during these hours.

Beginning January 7 through late April 2009, this closure method will be in place EVERY WEDNESDAY FROM 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m (weather permitting).

I-15 southbound traffic will be diverted to the Primm Valley properties for gas, food and services during the closures.

I-15 Express Lane Project I-215 to Sahara Avenue
Contract 3355 - Capriati Construction Corp., Inc. - $21,516,293.69
Construction of a portion of I-15 from I-215 to the Sahara Interchange, approximately 5.72 miles. Widening from 8 to 10 lanes.
Project Start: Sep 15, 2008 Estimated Completion: Sep 2009
On I-15 southbound between Flamingo Road and Tropicana Avenue the right travel lane is closed through December 2008. Motorists are advised to use lane shifts and traffic controls as directed.

On I-15 northbound between Flamingo Road and Sahara Avenue crews will set temporary barrier rail in the median lane, Sunday through Thursday evenings from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. There will be a minimum of 3 lanes open during peak hours. Motorists are advised to use lane shifts as directed.

I-15 Design Build Project - I-15 Widening from the I-15/US 95 Spaghetti Bowl Interchange to Craig Road
North Corridor Constructors - $240,000,000.00
Washington Avenue will be closed to through traffic under I-15 for 24 hours beginning, Wednesday morning December 9 at 12:01 a.m. for a deck pour. Motorists are advised to use detours as posted.

An Overhead Vehicle Warning System will be installed Monday December 8 at D Street and I-15 through March 2009. Trucks over the height of 14 feet 8 inches will not be able to pass under the I-15. D Street will be closed to through traffic under I-15, Monday evening December 22 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for a deck pour. Motorists are advised to use detours as posted.

The Washington Avenue On-Ramp to I-15 northbound is closed through February 2009. Motorists are advised to use Las Vegas Boulevard northbound to Cheyenne Avenue, Craig Road or Lamb Boulevard to access I-15 northbound.

Bonanza Road will be closed to through traffic under I-15, Wednesday morning December 10 at 1:00 a.m. through 5:00 a.m., Monday, December 15 for girder placement. Motorists are advised to use detours as posted.

Bonanza Road at I-15 will be reduced to one lane of traffic with various lane shifts from Monday, December 15 through Tuesday, December 23 for bridge work. Motorists are advised to use lane shifts as directed.

I-15 is reduced to two lanes of travel in each direction from the Spaghetti Bowl to Cheyenne Avenue through April 2009. Motorists are advised to use posted detours and extreme caution in the work zone.

Traffic on I-15 will be switched to the northbound lanes with two lanes of travel in each direction between the Las Vegas Wash (north of Cheyenne Avenue) and Lake Mead Boulevard beginning December 21. Motorists are advised to use posted detours and extreme caution in the work zone.

The Cheyenne Avenue On-Ramp to I-15 southbound will re-open Sunday, December 14. Until then motorists are advised to use personal alternate routes or posted detours to access I-15 southbound.

The I-15 southbound off-ramp to Cheyenne Avenue will be closed through February 2009 beginging Sunday, December 21 at 9:00 p.m. Motorists are advised to use posted detours as directed at Craig Road or Lake Mead Boulevard.

I-15 is reduced to two lanes of travel in each direction between the Spaghetti Bowl and Lake Mead Boulevard. The I-515 northbound to I-15 northbound ramp and the I-15 northbound D Street off ramp are closed through August 2009.Motorists are advised to use posted detours and extreme caution in the work zone.

F Street is permanently closed to traffic under I-15. The closure will result in a cul-de-sac being built on the west side of the freeway.

On I-15 between Craig Road and Cheyenne Avenue various lanes will be closed in each direction, Sunday through Friday evenings from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each evening. Motorists should use lane shifts as directed. Extreme caution in the workzone is advised.

Motorists are advised to avoid using Martin Luther King Blvd. as an alternate route for north/south travel. MLK is experiencing considerable traffic congestion and heavy delays can be expected. Consider Rancho or Lamb for alternate routes.

SR 573 Craig Road Grade Separation Over UPRR In North Las Vegas

Project Start: November 2007 Project Complete: Mid-2009
On Craig Road between Losee Road and Pecos Road various lane closures can be expected Sunday through Saturday evenings from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each evening. Motorists are advised to use lane shifts as directed.

Craig Road traffic has moved the new Craig Road Detour. No turns are allowed on Donovan Way from Craig Road and from Donovan Way to Craig Road. Signs are in place to use the new constructed Donovan Connector to access Donovan Way. Motorists are advised to use traffic controls and detours as directed.

Blue Diamond Widening Project 2B
Project Start: December 2007 - Estimated Completion: June 2009
Contract 3324 - Contractor - Road and Highway Builders LLC.. - $52,222,222.00
SR 160 construct a new 8 lane roadway with a new grade separation over the UPRR at the existing grade grossing and realigning Jones Boulevard south of the current intersection.
The Bronco Street and El Camino Road - Blue Diamond Road intersections (on north side of SR-160) are permanently closed. Motorists are advised to use Torrey Pines to Pebble to Bronco route.

The Jones Boulevard and Blue Diamond Road intersection (on south side of SR-160) is closed to allow for the construction of the detour at the railroad crossing. Motorists are advised to detour using Oleta to Westwind.

On State Route SR-160 traffic was moved to the newly completed section on the north half of the road at the railroad crossing with one lane of travel in each direction. This move is required to allow for construction of the south portion of SR-160 from the Decatur to the Rainbow Blvd. This traffic configuration is expected to remain in place until the completion of all Contract work; in late May/early June 2009.

Blue Diamond Widening Improvements
Mountain's Edge LLC will widen SR 160 to a four- lane highway between Rainbow Blvd and Durango Drive by adding one lane in each direction, including additonal safety measures, modifying existing traffic signals, and turning lane and storm drain improvements.

Project Start: July 2008 Estimated Completion: Summer 2009
Mountain's Edge LLC will widen and make road improvements to SR 160, Blue Diamond Road through the summer of 2009. The project will widen SR 160 to a four-lane highway between Rainbow Boulevard and Durango Drive by adding one lane in each direction, including additonal safety measures, modifying existing traffic signals, turning lane and storm drain improvements. Work hours for the project are weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Motorists are advised to use traffic controls as directed, extreme caution in the work zone is advised.

I-515 Galleria Mall Interchange Henderson - On I-515 from Russell Road to Lake Mead Parkway and from Boulder Highway from Stephanie to Stufflebeam/Galleria
Contract 2007-86-0024 - Frehner Construction Co. Inc. - $63.3 million
Project Start: April 2008 Estimated Completion: Summer 2009
Marks Street and Galleria Drive in Henderson are reduced to one lane in each direction with a center turn lane. Cosures are in effect evenings from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. each evening. Motorists are advised to use lane shifts as directed.

On I-515 between Auto Show Drive and Russell Road various lane closures may be in effect in each direction with speed reduction to 55 miles per hour. Motorists are advised to use traffic controls and lane shifts as directed.

US 95 Widening Project from 2 miles south of Searchlight to SR 163 (Laughlin Highway)
Contract 3270 - Road and Highway Builders LLC - $50,253,564.00
Project Start: Aug 11, 2008 - Summer 2009
No impact on traffic at this time.

Expect the following 24-hour traffic impacts to be in place through 2009:

Expect one northbound lane and one southbound lane of Mountain Vista Street to be closed from Desert Inn Road to Twain Avenue.

Expect one northbound lane and one southbound lane of Mountain Vista Street to be closed from Flamingo Road to Twain Avenue.

Crews will be working on East Desert Inn Road from Cabana Drive to Theme Road. All lanes will remain open, with crews limiting work to near the curb.

Expect one northbound lane of Boulder Highway to be closed from Indios Avenue to Twain Avenue.



The O'Callaghan/Tillman Bridge - Construction Delays
Due to construction activities and public safety, traffic on US 93 at the Hoover Dam may be reduced to single lane in each direction in the evening hours. Motorists are advised to observe traffic controls and use extreme caution in the work zone.
