On June 1, 1967 Superintendent of Documents Carper W. Buckley at the U.S. Government Printing Office signed Harford Junior College Library into federal depository library status.
In addition to the 40th FDLP program, patrons will be able to pose for patriotic themed 40th FDLP Anniversary and Constitution Day READ posters with their favorite government documents and books. Free copies of pocket U.S. Constitutions will be available in the Library. HCC Library will also showcase special 40th FDLP Anniversary and Constitution Day PowerPoint presentations and Library displays.
Constitution Day celebration continues during the day, marking the 220th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution. At 2 PM the campus will participate in the national reading of the Preamble of the U.S. Constitution with a gathering in the HCC campus Quadrangle, followed by 40th FDLP and Constitution Day celebration cakes served on the patio outside the HCC Library entrance.
Information is posted at the HCC Library website.
We are hoping for a wonderful 40th FDLP Library celebration on September 17, to follow the campus' Family Fun Weekend of September 15-16 which is just one of several events all year that marks the campus' 50th anniversary of its founding.
