As part of the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), we are planning a reception on October 1, 2008, at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC to help us celebrate that occasion. The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is organizing this event.

The FAA is the world's preeminent aviation authority that has helped the United States become the unquestioned leader of aviation around the globe. At home it has built an aviation system that is the world's standard for excellence. The FAA would be the first to acknowledge that this success is not due to its efforts alone. Rather, it's the result of a long-term partnership with industry and academia that continues to this day in the development of NextGen, the air transportation system of the future.

If your organization would like to help mark this special occasion, please contact Merrie Scott at 703/264-7530 or via e-mail at merries@aiaa.org.
