The NLRB offers many Guides on the web for labor professionals, lawyers
and the general public, including basic information about its overall mission
and its role in the private sector U.S. workplace. The Agency's history
explains how post-World War I labor strife lead to the passage of the National
Labor Relations Act in 1935, and how subsequent amendments altered it during
the following decades. This section also provides basic information about
employee representation in the workplace and about the basics of unfair labor
practices.
