Trees located in the footprint of the planned underground annex on the Maryland Ave. side of the U.S. Supreme Court building will be removed on Saturday, Sept. 6. They include a 10' Flowering Cherry, a 38' American Beech, a 24' American Holly, and a 32' Red Oak. A tree protection program has been implemented to preserve trees that are near the planned excavation. The construction of the underground annex is scheduled to be completed next summer. |
