The Hosta Library is primarily a database for images of mature hostas. It also offers access to contributed hosta information, including the Mora and Lemke databases. Frequently, these databases list incomplete information on hosta cultivars. Often, a seedling's name only and/or preliminary and incomplete information is given. It is the policy of the Hosta Library NOT to add pictures for such plants until they are mature and have been fully evaluated and/or registered with the Cultivar Registration Authority for Hosta. Therefore, named seedlings and immature hosta cultivars included in the Mora, Lemke or other databases cannot be illustrated in the Hosta Library until images of fully mature plants can be obtained.

This is a reference library of hosta photos. Please remember these are to look at and are still the property of the photographer who kindly loaned them. These photos can not be used without permission any easier than any others on the internet but since there is no way they can be policed if you are considering donating them you might want to reconsider. These photos take a considerable amount of time to add to the library and even longer to remove. If you donate them and think you might want them removed someday it might be better not to send them. |
