Ensuring the Quality of Information Disseminated by the Department

This webpage presents the Department’s Information Quality Guidelines, in accordance with the provisions of the Treasury and General Government Appropriations Act (P.L. 106-554), and OMB government-wide guidance. The administrative correction mechanisms outlined in the guidelines apply to information disseminated by the Department on or after October 1, 2002, regardless of when it was first disseminated.

The purposes of the Guidelines are to provide policy and procedural guidance to agency staff, and to inform the public about agency policies and procedures for making corrections to published information. The Department will continually review the performance of the guidelines in the context of OMB guidance, agency statutes and missions, and will make revisions to the guidelines as necessary.

The Department components below have published information quality guidelines.
