STATEMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
REGARDING THE PASSAGE OF THE PROTECT ACT:

“The Justice Department applauds today’s passage of the PROTECT Act. Taking the AMBER alert system nationwide will save innocent lives and take would-be predators off the streets. Law enforcement will be able to help find more abducted children, and return them to their parents. This bill also gives law enforcement valuable and needed tools to prosecute and punish violent crimes committed against America’s children.”
