WASHINGTON, D.C.- Attorney General John Ashcroft will announce the Justice Department's new ‘Medal of Valor' Award on FRIDAY, JUNE 7, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. EST in the 7th Floor Conference Room at Main Justice. The ‘Medal of Valor' Award will be the highest national award for valor by a public safety officer.
