STATEMENT BY ASSISTANT ATTORNEY

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Joel I. Klein, Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Department's Antitrust Division issued the following statement today after the Court issued its remedy in the Microsoft case:

"The Court's order is the right remedy for Microsoft's serious and repeated violations of the antitrust laws."
