Fort Smith, AR - The U.S. Marshals
Service recently received information from the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive
Task Force that two suspects, one wanted for attempted murder and the other
felony theft, were in Ozone, Arkansas. With this information the River
Valley Task Force (U.S. Marshals Service, Sebastian Co. Sheriff’s Office,
and Crawford Co. Sheriff’s Office) along with the Johnson Co. Sheriff’s
Office and the Arkansas State Police teamed up to apprehend the suspects.
Before sunrise on 10/24/08, officers had the house surrounded and the
suspects in custody.
Kerry Anderson, a 23 year old male, is wanted on the charges of attempted
murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle by the Tallassee Police
Department in Alabama. His girlfriend, Tiffany Chamblee a 24 year old
female, is accused of stealing $6,400 from a local McDonald’s in Tallassee
where she was a manager.
A search of the residence was made and a .40 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun
was found along with a small amount of suspected marijuana. Approximately
$2400 of the alleged stolen money was recovered.
The two suspects were arrested and booked into
the Johnson Co. Detention Center where both are awaiting extradition back to
Tallassee, AL. Annually, U.S. Marshals arrest more than 50 percent of all
federal fugitives and serve more federal warrants than all other federal law
enforcement agencies combined. Last year, the U.S. Marshals cleared 36,304
federal fugitive warrants.
