2008 Governor’s Awards

As part of the 2008 Governor's Conference on Service and Volunteerism, conference participants helped recognize the accomplishments of several outstanding Hoosier volunteers with the 2008 Governor's Awards for Volunteer Service - Indiana's most prestigious celebration of volunteerism.

The 2008 Honorees were recognized for outstanding volunteer contributions to causes that include health care, neighborhood revitalization, youth and senior activities, the arts, education, the environment, justice, housing, nutrition and social services at the Governor's Conference on Service and Volunteerism awards luncheon on March 25, 2008. Each honoree received a beautiful custom-made award, presented by the newly appointed Executive Director of the OFBCI, Isaac E. Randolph, Jr. and conference keynote speaker, Henry Lozano, Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of USA Freedom Corps.

This year we received a record number of nominations from all across the state. The caliber of nominees was extremely high, making the decision of the selection committee incredibly difficult. All nominees were sent a nomination certificate, signed by Governor Mitch Daniels. Please follow the links below to see a listing of all the deserving 2008 nominees, and to learn more about the winners.
