Message from the Office
Welcome to the Alaska Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiative’s Web site.
Faith-based groups and grassroots organizations often help in ways that government cannot. These resources touch the lives of those who are in poverty, hurting, or need a second chance in life. Although encouraging collaborative partnerships is not a new concept, it is important to recognize the strengths of each partner; invite new partners to the table, and ensure all partners have an opportunity to compete equally for federal and state funding. This office is here to assist our partners in a variety of ways. Most importantly, the office is here to strengthen collaboration among partners to meet community needs. The future of these partnerships is promising because of their potential to positively impact our Alaskan communities.
The office is assisted by an Advisory Council that includes a team of faith-based liaisons from state agencies and members from our Alaskan communities.
