Executive Orders

When President George W. Bush signed Executive Order 13199 establishing the Faith-Based and Community Initiative (FBCI) on January 29, 2001, he was acting on one of the cornerstones of the FBCI: to conduct a broad and targeted effort to help Americans rally to the aid of their neighbors in need. While the scope of activities called for under these executive orders is immense, the ultimate purpose remains simple, as stated by the President: "The paramount goal is compassionate results…." These five Executive Orders associated with the FBCI describe specific actions taken through the FBCI.
