NPS Receptionist
Ozark National Scenic Riverways (Van Buren, MO)
Location: Van Buren, MO 63965
Position Description
Ozark National Scenic Riverways needs a smile! We are looking for someone who is friendly and outgoing, with good people and organizational skills to be our Headquarters receptionist.

This is a great job for someone who wants to learn about the National Park Service or maybe gain some work experience for a future resume. Duties include answering phones, providing information to walk-in visitors about the park and local attractions and generally making visitors feel welcome. There is some handling of money, selling postcards and books. We will check for a criminal record, so don't bother if you have any serious criminal convictions.

In return we will provide a small allowance of ten dollars per day as well as something to help cover mileage if you live out of town. We may be able to provide an RV site with an electrical hook-up but not water. (Public showers nearby.) Of course you can expect a nice job reference if you earn it. You'll also get to meet all the movers and shakers in the park and learn a bit about the inner workings of a national park. There may sometimes be the chance to help rangers with school programs, special events and other activities if you'd like to tag along.

We do insist on a neat, professional appearance, good language ability and good work habits. Hours are negotiable, we would love to have you every day, but even a few hours a week will help us out.
