CENDI Working Groups Content Management and Access
The Content Management and Access Working Group deals with the creation, capture, customization, delivery, management, organization, storage, and persistence of enterprise content for optimal user access. The Working Group
- maintains information common to the member agencies regarding metadata and indexing guidelines.
- identifies common issues and areas for cooperation.
- identifies and monitors best practices and standards in such areas as metadata, cataloging, categorization/indexing, digital preservation, text mark-up, search engines, and user interface design.
- coordinates with public and private sector groups to identify areas
for cooperation and education.
Major areas of interest include:
- Bibliographic and Metadata Standards (includes mapping of CENDI metadata initiatives by agency)
- Taxonomies / Controlled Vocabularies
- Archiving, Preservation, and Permanent Access
- Persistent Identifiers (digital identifier)
- Digital/Virtual Libraries
- Metrics and Evaluation
- Technology Assessments
Committee chairmanship provided by DTIC and NAL.
