Wildland Fire Leadership Council Members
WFLC consists of senior level United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Department of the Interior (DOI) officials and other federal, state, tribal, and county representatives, including all five federal wildland firefighting agency executives.
Chair and Staff
Responsibility for chairing the Council alternates annually between the Department of Agriculture and the Department of the Interior. DOI Associate Deputy Secretary Jim Cason became Council Chair in June 2007. Responsibility for National Fire Plan interagency coordination and staff support to the Council is assigned to Rick Prausa, Deputy Director for Fire and Aviation Management, U.S. Forest Service, and to Mark Beighley, Director Office of Wildland Fire Coordination, Department of the Interior.
