New York Times: Mildred Maldonado-Molina

Mildred Maldonado-Molina, assistant professor of epidemiology, was quoted in a Sept. 27 New York Times article about the popularity of cigarette smoking among fashion models. She was lead author of published research that established a connection among dieting, smoking and drug use.

That’s the journey of a Florida boy who recently became one of the youngest ever to receive a set of artificial ears. 5-year-old Jorden Flowers of Jacksonville was born without ears or auditory nerves. Medical artists at the University of Florida College of Dentistry fashioned artificial ears for him.

Florida’s consumer confidence rises slightly but expected to dip again

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida’s consumer confidence inched up one point to 79 in September but is likely to continue its downward trend in the coming months thanks to higher gas prices and an expansion of the housing downturn to other segments of the economy, a new University of Florida study finds.

Real estate conference to feature Jack Kemp, current trends
