Fundraising goals

Boys playing at water pump.Young people are the future of ground water science and industry. Those currently in the field will be well served by the encouragement they give to future ground water professionals.

Realizing this, the National Ground Water Research and Educational Foundation has launched a campaign to raise as much as $1,500,000 for educational initiatives.

The funds raised will also help support the Henry Darcy Distinguished Lecture Series in Ground Water Science, the McEllhiney Distinguished Lecture Series in Water Well Technology, and the 21st Century Fund, an expanded endowment that will provide the following additional benefits.

• The Foundation will be enabled to initiate a grant-making program to associations and organizations that can help advance the understanding of ground water.

• Grants will be able to be made to selected ground water professionals from all walks of the work force to allow them to collaborate with colleagues on cutting-edge projects.

• Ground water's international role will be enhanced, particularly in developing countries where severe water crises exist.
