Statement by Desiree T. Sayle Regarding Departure of Peace Corps Director
USA Freedom Corps today released the following statement from Desiree T. Sayle, Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of USA Freedom Corps:
Director Gaddi Vasquez has served this Administration in his role at the Peace Corps, and in doing so has helped carry on this country's long-standing tradition of volunteer service.
Director Vasquez began his tenure at the Peace Corps in 2002 and was the third longest serving director in the Peace Corps' 45-year history. Under his leadership, the Peace Corps has reached a 30-year high in the number of volunteers in the field.
Director Vasquez leaves behind a strong record of accomplishment. I wish him and his family all the best.
