This Week in U.S. Marshals History
  The U.S. Marshals Enact the Court Security Officers Program....on December 3, 1982, when the agency established the initiative. By the end of September 1983, 144 Court Security Officers served across the nation.

U.S. Marshals React to Pearl Harbor...on December 7, 1941, when Japanese forces bombed the naval port. During World War II, U.S. Marshals helped maintain then-“enemy aliens” residing in the United States.
