Volunteers sought to establish industry best practices

2008 NGWA Ground Water Expo

Help yourself and your business by helping develop industry 'best suggested practices'!

Come be an active part in shaping industry practices and procedures through developing "best suggested practices" intended to instill the highest level of public confidence in ground water and well systems. Three different work sessions will take place at this year’s Expo. Each will give you the opportunity to share your insight, experience, and expertise.

Facilitated by a neutral third party, you and your colleagues will discuss, dissect, and analyze a “straw man” document prepared to get the conversation started. The goal is to restructure this document and ultimately turn it into a consensus best practice draft to submit to the NGWA Board of Directors for consideration. (You should expect continuing involvement beyond this session at the Expo with subsequent work conducted via e-mail, conference call, and online collaboration software.)

You will earn 1.5 CEPs per work session for your participation at the Expo. Space is limited to the first 25 participants at each session.

These sessions provide you and your colleagues an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas that will advance the ground water and water well professions. If you are interested in helping advance your trade, please join us as we strive to improve our profession.

  • Best Suggested Practices for Sustained Yield in a Hydrofractured Well
    Wednesday, December 3, 12:30-2 p.m.
Why the need? Certain practices may be better than others for validating sustained yield from hydrofractured rock wells.
  • Best Suggested Practices for the Safe Handling of Radioactive Wastes from Water Treatment Devices
