Evaluation of Weed Control Strategies in Organic Soybean Production

D. Kluchinski and J. W. Singer

June 2005

Research

A 2-year organic soybean study evaluated the contributions of row width, mechanical weed control equipment, cultivation frequency, and cultivation timing to annual broadleaf and grass weed control and grain yield. Wide row systems were found to provide greater flexibility in cultivation equipment and timing, and may provide greater yield stability than narrow row systems.
