Extension

Like its land-grant forebears, Sea Grant Extension helps bring the resources of research and higher education to bear on real-world issues - in this case, issues important to those who live near, earn their livelihoods from, and visit our oceans and coastlines.

Sea Grant Extension faculty and staff work in thematic teams to address critical marine and coastal issues. Each team includes community-based agents and specialists located on the OSU campus or at one of the university's coastal research and outreach facilities, plus support staff and communications colleagues.

Working in teams provides an opportunity to combine fresh ideas and decades of experience, emphasizing educational programming and group decision-making to address the challenges facing Oregon's coastal communities, the state, the Pacific Northwest and the nation.
