Students join a class that encounters Fester, a villain who encourages them to eat food that has been in the Danger Zone too long. Upon completion of the program students will be able to describe the role of bacteria in contaminating food; demonstrate how time, temperature, and cleanliness affect bacterial growth; identify the four major types of bacteria that cause foodborne illness and in what foods they are commonly found; and discuss how to control growth of bacteria to prevent foodborne illness.
